This Austin Business Journal article says that Dell has received it's second delisting notice from Nasdaq.
If Dell is delisted, how would it effect Austin?
I can see two influences:
1) I suspect there is still a lot of Austin money tied to Dell stock -- Dellionaires if no one else -- that might basically evaporate.
2) If Dell was delisted, it would severely affect consumer confidence in Dell, and would probably lead to a precipitous drop in sales. That, in turn, would lead to reductions in staffing. All of a sudden Austin would have a much higher unemployment.
Hmm... I'm sure the repercussions would ripple out even more. What else do you think would happen?
