My sister is home, and going through old photos. Here's one she found of my Mom, at about 25. Doesn't she look like the sexy Kansas farmgirl she was? Although this would have been after she left Kansas to see the world via the Air Force.
(p.s. All that hair -- it's fake!)

I remember reading a column by Marina Rust in Vogue once where she talked about going through some of her mother's old things. She unwrapped some tissue and saw what she thought was a dead rat -- only after throwing it across the room did she discover it was some of the fake hair the mom used to create her 60's beehive.
